To all MABBA Board and Members
Tom and our family would like to thank all of you who have sent cards and e-mails regarding Tom's health.
As of today, June 01, Tom has been re-admitted to hospital because of pneumonia, which is common after
his type of surgery. He is doing well despite not having much of an appetite, but we all know rest is the most
important for a speedy recovery. We are hoping he will be home very soon.

2014 MABBA Provincial Championship Information
Overall titles will be determined by the number of competitors in a category and classes. In Provincials there are 7 categories, in each category there are from 3 to 8 classes depending on the category. To win an Overall Title you are required to participate against other competitors in your category not just your class. If only one person is registered for that category, there will not be an Overall Title awarded for that category or if there were 3 or 4 in the same class unless you're going to be compared with competitors in your category from other classes within that category it's the same situation. The competitor who places 1st in the class will still receive a MABBA ring for 1st place and be allowed to compete at the 2014 CBBF Nationals. The 2nd and 3rd place winners will also be allowed to complete at the 2014 CBBF Nationals

The 2014 MABBA Provincial Qualifier has come and gone for another year but not without the support of a lot of people. I would like to start off my thanks to Martin and Barry Pacak, owners of Gorilla Jack and MABBA's major sponsor again this year. Martin and Barry work behind the scene with MABBA for not only the volunteer t-shirts that everyone enjoys wearing at the Provincial Qualifier but to all the Gorilla Jack staff that unselfishly give up their time every year to work with MABBA…. your support does not go unnoticed.
The second individuals that need to be thanked are the amazing volunteers that stepped up this year and made the 2014 MABBA Provincial Qualifier work so smoothly. The volunteers are at the weigh-in which is always a lengthy evening for everyone but having a majority of them back at Pantages Theatre at 6:30am Saturday morning working to set up the tables, chairs and placing protective paper on the floors up and down stairs in the change areas was greatly appreciated. These people are not only there at 6:30am in the morning but a lot stay ALL day and worked behind the scenes at prejudging and also in the evening at the finals (a very long day for all of us). Again to our fantastic volunteer base THANK YOU….. the show doesn't work without you.
I would also like to thank the staff from Pantages Theatre; both the front of house and the backstage staff who are there at 6:30am preparing the theatre for our show.

Definition: Women's physique division (herein referred to as "WP") has been created to give a platform for women who enjoy weight training, competing, contest preparation. Competitors should display a toned, athletic physique showcasing femininity, muscle tone, beauty/flow of physique.
WP will be judged on the following criteria:
- Symmetry, shape, proportion, muscle tone, poise and beauty flow
- physique assessment and comparison will take place during prejudging
Physique should display all of the above criteria without compromising femininity, beauty/flow of physique, etc.
The following are examples of common terms used in the bodybuilding industry. These words can be helpful to assess what should not be descriptive to the physiques being judged in WP:
I.E: Ripped, shredded, peeled, striated, dry, diced, hard, vascular, grainy, massive, thick, dense, etc.
While all types of physiques will be considered when it comes to height, weight, structure, etc. Excessive muscularity should be scored down accordingly.
WP should be judged as a standard between women's figure and womens bodybuilding.
