Competitor eligibility
MABBA Competitors,
The CBBF is in the process of identifying Canadian competitors presently eligible to compete at the 2009 North American Championships as well as the 2010 Arnold Amateur Classic.
Although the CBBF has the luxury of time, they are requesting your assistance to expedite the formation of the Canadian Teams and trust that this may alleviate any last minute concerns that the athletes may have.
If you are interested and are qualified to compete at the above noted competitions (see CBBF home page www.cbbf.ca under International Competition Qualification Standards) let me know. Once the athletes have been identified, the CBBF will then provide each competitor with a letter encouraging their participation.
If you know of any athletes who may be getting ready to compete at the above events or whom you may believe would be interesting in receiving a letter, please provide me with names as well as your email address and mailing address.
Thank you,
Tom Heffner
MABBA President

CBBF Judging Guidelines for
Fitness & Figure/Body Fitness
The CBBF will follow the IFBB amateur rules as a
guideline for judging fitness and figure/body
fitness at CBBF National events:
Physique Assessment will include;
overall athletic appearance - grooming (hair and
facial beauty) - overall athletic development of the
muscle
proportion & symmetry - condition of the skin & skin
tone - presentation ( poise, posture, confidence)
Judges will first assess the overall athletic
appearance of the physique. The assessment beginning
with a general impression of the physique will take
into consideration the hair, facial beauty, overall
athletic development of the muscle, presentation of
a balanced, symmetrically developed physique,
condition of the skin, the skin tone and the
athletes ability to present herself with confidence,
poise and grace.
The physique will be assessed as to its level of
overall muscle tone, achieved through athletic
endeavours. The muscle groups should have a round
firm appearance with a small amount of body fat. The
physique should neither be excessively muscular nor
excessively lean and should be free from deep muscle
separation and or striations. Physiques that are
considered either too muscular or too lean may be
marked down.
The assessment will also take into consideration the
tightness and tone of the skin. The skin tone should
be smooth and healthy in appearance and without
cellulite. The face, hair and makeup should
complement the " total package" presented by the
athlete.
The assessment of the athlete's physique will
include the athlete's entire presentation from the
moment she walks on stage until the moment she walks
off stage. Emphasis will be placed on a healthy,
fit, athletic physique in an attractively presented
"total package".
In addition there have been no changes to the
competition attire for either fitness or figure/body
fitness at CBBF National events.

| Men’s Classic Bodybuilding
Men’s Classic Bodybuilding was officially recognized as a new sport discipline by the IFBB Executive Council and IFBB Congress on November 27, 2005 (Shanghai, China).
Classic Bodybuilding responds to the increasing worldwide demand for competitions for men who prefer, unlike today’s current bodybuilders, to develop a less muscular, yet athletic and aesthetically pleasing physique.
|
 |
Men’s Classic Bodybuilding consists of the following three rounds:
- Prejudging: Round 1 - Quarter Turns and Mandatory Poses.
- Finals: Round 2 - Posing Routine
- Finals: Round 3 - Mandatory Poses and Posedown
In numerical order, and in groups of not more than five competitors at a time, each group is directed to the centre stage area to perform the following four Mandatory Poses:
- Front Double Biceps
- Side Chest
- Back Double Biceps
- Abdominals and Thighs
